He has been practicing Family and Emergency Medicine for sixteen years. His Family Practice and primary care experience have been mixed with ongoing Emergency Room practice and has been comprised of working mainly in Southeastern Utah with various ethnic populations on and around the Navajo Indian Reservation. He has worked in the Emergency Department at University of Utah Medical Center where he treated Emergency and Trauma patients. He has also worked at various Urgent Care clinics in the Salt Lake Area. He has experience and training in treating many chronic illnesses including Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease, and Hypothyroidism. During his Doctoral studies, he centered much of his elective studies on Nutrition and Exercise. He has also received additional training in Endocrinology, basic orthopedics, and management of fractures, dislocations, and sports injuries as well as training in wound management including complex wound closure (plastic surgery).
Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, camping, sports, and refereeing basketball at the college and high school levels.
