COVID-19 is affecting everything and has turned everyone’s lives completely around. Instead of focusing on things that we can’t do, we need to be taking advantage of things that we can do. It’s a great time to strengthen our family relationships and start things that we’ve wanted to do for a long time but kept putting off. Start cooking from scratch, bake with sourdough, write a journal, paint and get back into art or get that house or yard project done that you’ve been putting off for years. It’s a time to slow down so take this time to de-stress and learn how to meditate or start yoga.

When it comes to preventing and fighting against things like viruses, the state of our immune system is extremely important. And sleep is the #1 thing we need to watch. Just because you don’t need to be at the office by 8am, doesn’t mean you can party like it’s 1999 every night and go to bed at 3am (even if those parties consist of just you and the TV or a bottle of wine). Get your sleep. If you need to, set a timer on your phone to remind you to go to bed at a reasonable time.

Reducing your stress is another key factor. Turn off the news and social media if it’s stressing you out. Writing is a great way to deal with stress.

Hydration is the third most important factor. Drinks like hydration, coffee and sugary drinks will dehydrate you so eliminate or keep to a minimum.

Another important factor is eliminating processed foods, eating whole foods and including more vegetables and salads into your diet. Dr. Earl goes into the right supplements to take in the next blog article and video.
