Melanie K. Muma, FNP

Melanie Kim Muma is a board-certified nurse practitioner (FNP-C). She earned her nurse practitioner degree from Graceland University. Prior to becoming a FNP, her experience included 12 years as a RN, with a primary focus in the Emergency Department. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in nursing education and has functioned as a college professor, teaching and mentoring nursing students for more than five years. Additionally, she is an officer in the United States Navy Reserve and has deployed to Afghanistan in the capacity of a trauma nurse. Prior to being in the medical profession, she held positions as Legal/Police Secretary, dispatcher and criminal analyst.

Melanie is a strong proponent of alternative style treatments, recognizing there are many wonderful and effective treatments not taught in Western medicine. After personally receiving such treatments over the years, she made the decision to function in the alternative realm as a FNP. She is a very active person, enjoying the mountains, hiking, 4-wheeling, SCUBA diving, camping, exercise, travel and reading.
