The sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) is a collection of neurons inside the head that are exposed to the outside environment due to its connection to the nasal mucosa.
What is a Migraine Reset?
A Migraine Reset, also called a SPG (sphenopalatine ganglion) block, is a short, 15 minute in-office and FDA-approved procedure that administers medication to the SPG to reset, or block, the inflammation that causes migraines. It’s a non-invasive, virtually painless procedure that provides long lasting - often permanent - relief from migraines and other chronic headaches. Since a Migraine Reset trains the SPG nerve cluster to ignore migraine triggers, the process can take a little time (often 2-3 visits) for the body to adjust. However, once the body acclimates, it provides effective and long-lasting pain relief.
How long will the procedure take?
This in-office procedure takes approximately 15 minutes. We recommend you plan about 45 minutes of total time at Denali Medical Center each time you get a Migraine Reset.
Will it hurt?
In comparison to the previous procedure (and other migraine treatment procedures), it is considered a comfortable procedure. The Migraine Reset uses no needles. However, the small flexible catheter may cause slight discomfort during your first visit.
What are the associated risks and side effects?
The risks of a Migraine Reset is minimal. However, on a rare occasion, patients experience a bloody nose. In extremely rare cases, the first treatment can trigger a migraine event in your body. (This may happen due to your body not being used to the procedure.) As with any medications, there is the slight risk of an allergic reaction to the medication. This is why a Migraine Reset is monitored by a doctor.
Treatments are paid for at time of service. If necessary, Denali Performance Clinic provides payment arrangements through third party financing.
What is RenuO2 Oxygen Therapy?
RenuO2 is an amazing all-natural oxygen treatment for your back, neck, knees, shoulders, tendons, bursa, all joints, muscles, etc. It works really fast without harmful drugs or surgery at a fraction of the cost.
RenuO2 Therapy is essentially an injection infused with oxygen, minerals and supplements which is directed into the problem area. These natural ingredients work together in a synergistic manner by helping your body regenerate cartilage and repair torn muscles, ligaments, and tendons.
What makes RenuO2 Oxygen Therapy better than Prolozone?
RenuO2 Oxygen Therapy treatments are placed in the fascial planes. This allows you to receive a much broader and more inclusive spread of the medications than you would receive from Prolozone Therapy.
Prolozone injections often cause light trauma to the body which the healing process must first overcome prior to healing the damaged muscle or joint. Injection trauma from Prolozone happens because the injections are made much deeper and with much more force - as much as 1,200 psi or more at the tip of a needle. In stark contrast, RenuO2 Oxygen Therapy is delivered softly into the fascial plane and does not cause trauma to the body. Instead, RenuO2 treatments are gently placed in such a way that the body readily accepts them. Rather than forcing the body to deal with additional trauma as in the case of a Prolozone injection, RenuO2 Oxygen Therapy allows the body to directly focus on healing.
What Areas of the Body Can RenuO2 Treat?
Our empowered treatment can be used for relief with post surgical recovery, post surgical pain, osteoarthritis, partial anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, meniscus tears, tendinitis, bursitis, disc herniation, bulging discs, spinal arthritis, bone on bone joints, frozen shoulder, bone spurs, plantar fasciitis, unresolved pain from past injury, sports injuries, partial rotator cuff tears, carpal tunnel and more.
Does RenuO2 Actually Work?
X-rays have shown a significant increase in cartilage thickness after RenuO2 treatments. Over 87% of those we have treated say their pain hasn’t come back and that they are still pain free!
How Long Do Results Last?
Because RenuO2 stimulates cartilage regeneration, this treatment provides long-term pain relief and recovery that lasts for years! Regenerated cartilage will be susceptible to time, wear, tear, and injury just like normal tissue.
What Are the Side Effects of RenuO2?
RenuO2 is a natural treatment that has no known side effects other than the minor discomfort from the injection - which goes away after a few hours. It is fast-acting and, since it is not an invasive surgery, there is no need for recovery time. You can drive yourself to the appointment and drive yourself home. And the best part about the joint and muscle rejuvenation treatment is that it works.
Is the Procedure Painful?
There can be some discomfort if the joint is inflamed, but generally there is minimal discomfort with the procedure. On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s around 1.5. When the local anesthetic is introduced into the joint, there is often some minor discomfort lasting a few seconds. When the ozone is introduced into the joint, the joint feels full for about 30 minutes. You may experience some minor soreness in the joint for about 24 hours after the procedure - especially after the first treatment since there is often some inflammation present. Many patients tell us they felt no discomfort whatsoever and those who experienced some discomfort reported it to be very minimal. There are few to no limitations post treatment. The treatment does not block your ability to sense injury and over performance. Pain is your guide.
If My Body Can Heal Naturally, Then Why Isn’t It Already Healing On Its Own?
Many times after an injury we build a wall of inflammation. Not only is the inflammation painful, but it can also block nutrients and oxygen from being able to get in. Unlike muscles, joints don’t have an abundant blood supply to bring them oxygen.
As we grow older, our circulation decreases which further deteriorates ligaments and joints due to the decrease in oxygen utilization. This decrease in oxygen utilization produces a localized increase in lactic acid production, free radical damage, and necrosis, which serves as the foundation for sensory irritation and injury, all of which cause chronic pain. Without the proper nutrients, the body has a tough time healing. RenuO2 is a natural way to stimulate and unlock our body’s innate healing power by providing it with the right nutritional boost at the precise location.
What Are the Basics of How RenuO2 Works?
RenuO2 works by increasing blood supply and improving oxygen utilization in a localized area of damaged connective tissue, which stimulates cells to excrete waste material, and promotes their ability to repair themselves and the tissues around them.
How Would I Explain RenuO2 To My Doctor?
Ozone is a powerful stimulant of cellular growth factors, such as Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-B), which protects the surface of the cartilage. This powerful cytokine activates cartilage cells to produce matrix proteins necessary for the body to make the white cartilage substance.
Ozone reacts with the double bonds in lipids and amino acids and creates peroxides that are able to oxidize NADH to NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), and thereby correct the declining NAD/NADH ratio. And by doing this, cellular function is stimulated to return to business as usual, and oxygen utilization is returned to normal. The net result is that the tissues get the nutrients and energy that they need to heal. And as they heal, the circulation to the area is re-established, pain is cured, and the treatment is complete.
Ultimately, injecting ozone in or around the joint stimulates tissue regeneration, a buildup of antioxidant enzymes and a reduction in inflammation.
What Are the Ingredients in RenuO2?
RenuO2 contains a combination of natural substances including medical oxygen/ozone, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, dextrose along with Procaine and Lidocaine. The small amount of Lidocaine and Procaine is for numbing and to help reset the nerves. Dextrose helps tighten up the ligaments temporarily and the B6, B12 and Folic Acid are vital nutrients to help prepare the area for the ozone. Because of the procaine, a local anesthetic, the injection is virtually painless.
Basically, the solution causes temporary inflammation, which stimulates your body to heal and works in areas where most treatments can't do anything, such as your joints, ligaments, and cartilage. The vitamins stimulate the DNA of cells to get in action for a longer-term fix, while the ozone stimulates tissue regeneration and works to actually heal the area.
How Many Treatments Will I Need and How Soon Will I See Results?
Every person and condition is different and the amount of treatments needed can vary depending on that particular scenario. Typically, we recommend 3 to 5 treatments or so, but the vast majority of people start noticing dramatic improvements immediately after just one treatment. Depending on the severity of your condition, you may need more (or less) treatments.
The amazing thing with RenuO2 is how fast you’ll be able to see results. If for some reason, RenuO2 isn’t working for you (which we highly doubt will happen), then you’ll be able to tell fairly soon and you can stop your treatments at any time. There really is no risk, yet you have everything to gain.
Additionally, there are other options such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) with ozone, which may help with those few patients who do not respond to RenuO2.
Why Should I Choose RenuO2 Instead of Conventional Treatments like Surgery?
We truly believe that RenuO2 is one of the most powerful healing therapies available today. It is non-toxic, extremely effective, offers immediate results, and doesn’t have any detrimental side effects like many conventional treatments.
Several recent studies have shown that as many as 95% of all orthopedic surgeries should be avoided and better outcomes are available. In addition, surgery takes on average 8-12 weeks to heal and that’s if everything goes according to plan. But unfortunately, not all surgeries go according to plan and many find themselves dealing with lifelong complications after surgery. Spine procedures are costly and surprisingly ineffective, statistically speaking—surgery for nonspecific lower-back pain has a success rate of less than 30%.
Cortisone shots may help in the short term by suppressing inflammation, however when you look at the long term effects, it has been associated with bone loss, weakening of the bones, tendons and ligaments along with nerve damage.
Pharmaceutical pain medications like Ibuprofen, Aleve or other NSAIDS can inhibit proteoglycan synthesis, a component of ligament and cartilage tissue regeneration and repair and should also be avoided.
With RenuO2, the risks are low and the success rate is high. What could be more ideal?
What is the History of RenuO2? Why Haven’t I Heard of It Before?
RenuO2 has been in the United States in a variety of forms since 1980 and much longer in other countries. It is not a conventional treatment and therefore many people don’t know much about it. Because Big Pharma isn’t behind it, you’re not going to see widespread advertising campaigns. Keep in mind that just because you may not have heard of it before, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work. We’ve seen very high success rates and we advise you to check out our testimonials for yourself.
Are Your Treatments Covered by Insurance?
Since RenuO2 is considered by most insurance companies to be “investigational” and “alternative,” it is not covered by insurance. However, even though it is not covered, it is very affordable and typically people find that they end up spending much less money overall, compared to other options like surgery, especially when you consider the costs of time off work, etc.
